Southville Bike Workshop

The Southville workshop is our neighbourhood outpost on Myrtle Street - a proper, no-fuss bike workshop serving the streets of BS3 and beyond. It started life as a garage (or a parking bay, or a conference room, depending on who you ask) and has gradually been shaped into a traditional bread-and-butter bike workshop. It's quieter and more stripped back than Long Ashton, and that's exactly the point.

The workshop is run by Jason, a skilled mechanic who has built up a loyal following of local riders who keep coming back. There are parts, accessories and bikes for sale too, and we nearly always have clearance stock on the shelves - helmets, clothing, bikes - at seriously reduced prices. It's worth a nosy even if you don't need a service.

We're just around the corner from North Street and a short walk from the Tobacco Factory - right in the middle of one of Bristol's most cycle-friendly neighbourhoods. Riders come to us from across south Bristol: Bedminster, Ashton, Hotwells, Totterdown and Knowle, as well as from further afield who've heard about Jason's reputation for honest, reliable work.

Clearance & outlet - great bikes at reduced prices

As we refresh the range at our Long Ashton shop, the outgoing stock comes to Southville for clearance. Helmets, clothing, accessories, and complete bikes - often at half price or less. Stock changes all the time, so it's always worth dropping in to see what's on the shelves. If you're after a bargain on a quality bike in Bristol, this is the place to look.

There are no gimmicks here - everything is genuine clearance from the brands we stock and trust, including Kona, Genesis, Frog, Ridgeback and Squish. Not end-of-life imports, not seconds - just good bikes and kit that need a new home at a reduced price. Kids' bikes

We carry a selection of kids' bikes at Southville alongside our full range at Long Ashton. Whether you need a balance bike for a toddler or a junior mountain bike for a trail-hungry 10-year-old, we stock lightweight, properly made bikes from brands that design specifically for young riders - including Frog, Squish, Hoy, Kona, Ridgeback and Woom.

Opening hours & visiting

Because the Southville workshop operates with one part-time mechanic, our opening hours are focused to manage workflow and keep quality high. During core hours the door will be open - walk straight in. Outside those times, if you're dropping off or collecting, please knock. If the locks are on, there's no one there.

In the event of staff illness or holidays, the Southville workshop may close at short notice to ensure our Long Ashton shop stays fully staffed. We'd recommend calling ahead on 01179 633 891 if you're making a special trip.
