If you've been involved in a cycling accident that wasn't your fault, our partner CAMS (Cyclists' Accident Management Service) can help get you back on the road - usually with nothing to pay out of your own pocket.
Once they've taken your details and decided whether they can assist you, they focus on getting you back on a bike (injury pending) within a week or two and will sort out all the finances so you usually have nothing to pay. They then deal with the rest of your claim after that. We work closely with CAMS, so the handoff between your claim and our workshop is seamless.
We always recommend insuring your bike, especially if it's worth £1,000 or more. Your home insurance won't always cover you for riding your bike - often it will only cover theft at home. Dedicated cycling insurance fills that gap.
With the right policy you'll be covered if your bike is stolen (provided you follow the insurer's lock requirements), if you have an accident that's your fault and involves another party, and if you crash on your own with no one else involved (if you've selected accidental damage cover). You can also cover expensive parts, accessories and kit on top of the bike itself, plus any injuries you sustain.
To us insurance is a no brainer. As an example, if you have an accident on a carbon bike that is your own fault, the best thing to do is send it away for a scan to check for internal damage to the frame and fork. That alone can be costly, and if repair or replacement is needed the costs add up fast. If you're covered, you don't need to worry - and quite often, it may be easier for the insurer to replace the whole bike.

It depends on the damage. A bent derailleur hanger might be £15-£30 to replace. A full wheel rebuild or component replacement will be more. We'll assess your bike and give you a clear quote before doing any work. If the accident wasn't your fault, CAMS may cover the full cost.
Not always - carbon can crack internally without visible signs. If your carbon frame has taken a significant impact, we recommend a professional scan. We can arrange this and advise you on the results.
We'll still repair your bike - you just won't be able to claim through CAMS, as they only handle not-your-fault incidents. If you have bike insurance with accidental damage cover, you may be able to claim through your insurer. Either way, bring it in and we'll sort you out.
It helps, but speak to CAMS first - they'll tell you exactly what you need. If you can, note down the date, time, location, and any details of the other party involved at the scene.
